Drawing on his background as a Signals Captain in the Australian Government, Monte exemplifies discipline, a pursuit of excellence, and technical leadership. He has successfully led teams in tackling complex strategic challenges. While in Defence, Monte oversaw numerous specialist capability development projects, earning one of Australia’s highest military commendations.

He holds formal qualifications in leadership, management, government, business, and cybersecurity from the Royal Military College Duntroon, University of New South Wales, Texas A&M University, and the SANS Institute.
